Founded in July 2023, Re4Real, a spin-off of Sapienza, University of Rome, has developed an innovative green process to recover post-consumer PET from packaging, polyester textile fibers and synthetic materials. The technology is able to depolymerize PET into its primary elements, leading to a circular economy through green chemistry and responding to the global demand for innovative plastic recyclability processes, such as PET which is a widespread material for common products but still with limits to recyclability. The company serves the PET synthetic packaging and garment markets by providing sustainable post-consumer plastic management services.
Re4Real technology responds to the global demand of innovative recyclable processes of plastics, in particular PET, serving the PET markets of packaging and synthetic garments. The proposed solution is the only one that can offer bio-catalyzed biomolecular conversion (rBMBC) to the market. Other chemical or non-chemical processes for recovering PET-based show a low-quality product.
